Ergonomics III: Empirical research methods

The aim of the course is to familiarize participants with and enable them to apply research methods in the field of ergonomics. To this end, participants will receive an introduction to the basics of experimental design and will learn about key methods of data collection and statistical data analysis. Participants will then carry out, evaluate and present their own experimental studies on the topics of driver behavior and driving simulation.

Weekly personal participation in the lecture units as well as in the small group appointments in the laboratory is obligatory.

In addition, a research report of approximately six pages and a presentation must be prepared as part of the course.

Organizational details

Participation in the course is limited. Registration takes place via ILIAS. The course can only be attended if either Ergonomics I or Ergonomics II (work organization) has been successfully completed.

The examination consists of a written research report and a presentation.
