Contents | Learning objectives: The advancing digital transformation is fundamentally changing the framework conditions and environment of industry. German industrial companies are facing massive socio-technical challenges in order to be able to design and implement the digital transformation individually, holistically, practically and economically. As part of this course, students learn in particular basic knowledge of industrial engineering, the economic design of modern work and production systems, the technologies used in Industry 4.0 and their opportunities and challenges in the world of work (brown- & greenfield) In-depth knowledge of industrial companies and their basic business and process types as a basis for deriving benefit-oriented measures Ability to determine the maturity level of a company, derive requirements and identify the associated potential for digital transformation Ability to holistically, individually and economically plan & implement the digital transformation in industrial companies, including the necessary steps, methods and instructions, as well as subsequent monitoring of target achievement to ensure the value contribution of the solutions & IT used Course content: Fundamentals of industrial engineering as well as the structure and history of industrial companies in a global context Digital transformation of industrial companies and effects on the world of work Analysis of the status quo of industrial companies' work and production systems Planning the digital transformation Implementation of the digital transformation to Industry 4.0 Monitoring target achievement and drawing conclusions in practice Organizational matters: Compulsory attendance at introductory lecture and block lecture (one week all day) |
