Most traffic situations on German roads, especially in urban traffic, are regulated by the StVO. In situations that are not clearly regulated, such as negotiating junctions of equal priority or bottlenecks, implicit communication signals are often used to communicate. The aim of the project is to ensure cooperation between automated vehicles and other non-automated road users. Implicit communication signals will be collected and analyzed in the course of the project in order to derive behavioral decisions of the automated vehicle in a later step.
The project is being carried out as part of the DFG Priority Program 1835 "Cooperative Interacting Automobiles".
